Work Package 5 – Scientific Project Leadership
Work Package 5 (WP5) provides the scientific leadership and governance required to ensure the successful implementation of the ACT-CHIK project. It coordinates scientific oversight across all work packages, ensuring that project activities are conducted to the highest standards of scientific excellence, research integrity, and ethical practice.
Working closely with the Project Coordinator, consortium partners, and the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking (JU), WP5 ensures that scientific objectives are achieved on schedule, project deliverables meet quality standards, and research activities remain aligned with the overall project strategy.
Objectives
1. Oversee the scientific governance and leadership of the project, including:
(i) acting as the key contact point for the
Global Health EDCTP3 JU alongside the coordinator on scientific governance & leadership actions including external
communication;
(ii) Monitoring that the scientific tasks are implemented properly, e.g., reviewing deliverables before
their submission to the Global Health EDCTP3 JU and
(iii) Collaborating with the coordinator on the project monitoring
and the adoption of appropriate internal measures to ensure that beneficiaries are fulfilling their obligations.
2. Provide oversight of project activities to ensure compliance with national and international standards of scientific research and ethics and with the scientific plan for successful project execution.
3. Develop scientific reports to support the scientific project reporting by the coordinator and external communication, dissemination, and exploitation with WP6 lead
4. Establish and coordinate the activities of the External Scientific and Ethics Advisory Committee and support the DSMB composition with the study sponsor (WP2)
